ARV 06 | Smell of South Levante A + G + M + M
With the magazine ARV my relationship began in 2005. In this case I have just received the latest issue (Year 3, No. 6, March 2007) entitled "Smell of South Levante (1)." The approach of numbers as "Plastic" I thought it worthwhile, as the magazine a container product of a very broad investigation, which in that case revolved around the world metaphorically plastic covers the fields of Almeria. The greenhouses, materials, the same kinds of questions and constructive were the subject of the contents of that number.
In this case the investigation is in itself the proposal of the direction of the magazine (Luque Eva Garcia and Alejandro Pascual. ELAP Architects) an outbreak of focusing on the corner of the Mediterranean peninsula. The artifice is represented on the cover of the abstacción something similar to waves emitted from nuclei (MGAM) is in the environment of Almeria. Malaga, Granada, Almeria and Murcia are the territory ment hypothesis of an alleged argument: therein lies the challenge editorial.
The prologue is straight and does not hide the law governing the assembly of the hypothesis:
[...] Eninstein He said that space and time are not conditions in which we live, but mechanisms by which we think. If the weather helps us to distinguish the past from the future unpredictable unchanged, the space will allow us to disentangle those events that occur simultaneously. Events here that we distinguish by their separation local, but that could be linked to their way of tackling the project. Got it from a place in their various environmental realities, terriotriales, socieles, economic, cultural or political.
[...] A rain of heterogeneous proposals, linked by their boldness in approach and freshness in the outcome, it is sneezing from different outbreaks in southern Levante 1 . "
Within this superb selection of my file have published the Performing Arts Center of Lancaster (MGM Architects), The headquarters of the Judicial Antequera (Laguillo and Schönegg) and Modular Two centers in the PTA Malaga (Romero, Reinoso, Delacour). There is also in this edition works of architects such as Elisa Valero, Antonio Jimenez Torrecillas, Juan Domingo Santos, Pilar Mencia, Jose Luis Daroca and Jose Maria Torres Nadal.
In addition to the proposed issue of the magazine itself, end up talking about two projects that I have drawn attention for several reasons. The first is the Casa de los Pinos in Murcia , The work of Javier Pena, and the second is the Municipal Library Torrepacheco , The work of Martin Lejárraga. It is not for a photographer out more about them, only to suggest that his visit is (as the prologue to Eva Luque) the pleasure of being "sneezing" so good for architecture.
A total of 16 projects developed in 179 pages. The work done on the planimetry is noteworthy, since its readability is very good. The paper is Silk, with a very good performance in the sharpness of the images (especially visible in the double pages), the bilingual edition and costs 18 euros.
